The business plan is the guide to your business and you should consider writing one. According to experts, the plan is one of the most important tools when it comes to setting up a new one or expanding an old one. People who formulated plans before they start generally have higher rates of success as compared to those people who just jump into a opportunity without really bothering to find out what they are up against. Writing a plan is not really as mind boggling as building a rocket ship that will travel to Mars in just a few days. In fact, anybody who is inclined into business can come up with their own simplified plan. As long as the entrepreneur knows what they want and have some ideas on how they will achieve there goal, they can come up with a simplified plan. A plan should include an executive summary which will give a very short description of the content of the plan, a description of the company and its operations, the market analysis, the strategies of implementing the business, a profile of the management team and a detailed financial plan. A comprehensive plan could reach up to several pages. In fact, plans for bug companies and organizations could well reach over a hundred pages depending on the complexities of its operations and other factors. Note that big businesses that are operating several plants all over the country need to create a plan that will encompass the operations of all the segments of the business so normally these companies will have some voluminous documents as part of their business plan. According to experts, the financial plan is one of the most important parts of the plan. Under the financial plan, the expenses for operations, the cash flow, sales and other financial aspects of the business will be presented. The figures in the financial plan will be based on sound assumptions. When we say sound assumptions, we mean that the figures that are used in the projected financial statements are results of extensive research and price analysis. Investors will most likely go directly to the financial plan when reading through the plan and the strategies. These parts of the document will tell them how profitable it can be and what are the possible improvements that can be introduced to make it more profitable. From the financial plan, the investors can already gauge as to whether or not it is worth their money or not. In most cases, if the financial plan is not properly laid out or if the financial plan is bloated, the investors will shy away from the business. Tom McMullen Home Business Market Place 1
