If you are ready when a buyer contacts you and you are able to show samples on the spot you will present yourself as a professional even if you are just starting out.

2. Develop a web site. Creating a small website makes it much easier for clients to find you. Even if it is only one page it will give you a home on the web. This will become vital as your marketing activities form and your business grows. You will be networking everyday and with a web site you will have a place to direct prospective clients. You will be surprised at how quickly your web site will get your business rolling.

3. Increase your personal productivity. As a copywriter you are being paid for your time. The more efficient you are with your time the more money you will make. Develop habits that will help you increase production in a smaller amount of time. For example, find the best time of the day for you to write uninterrupted. Whether it is 5 am or midnight finding peace and quiet at some point in your day is very important as a writer. You become familiar with the client and their business so you will learn what it is that they want. This will cut down on your production time with this knowledge. Give every writing job your very best effort. The more satisfied the customer is the greater the chances are at more work from this client.
